A group of women from Pen Llyn who go by the name ‘Llamwyr Lleuad Llyn’ have just finished their training for the 2018 Moonwalk in London.

The group have been training hard since October and have been on many 20-mile walks around the area and have been spotted as far away as in the Caernarfon area.

Pictured here are 10 of the 11 women taking part; they are Karen Rees, Einir, Haf, Sian, Barbara, Miriam, Jenny, Karen, Demi and Karen.

Missing from the photo is Alex who since starting the training has moved to Ruthin to live, but will still be walking with the Pen Llyn Ladies.

The group has also walked many local routes around Pwllheli and the surrounding villages in preparation.

For the next few days before the event, the group is following professional guidance and easing off the high mileage training and concentrating on smaller walks and resting their bodies ready for the big day.

The group travel down to London on Saturday morning, 12 May, and will take a nap in the afternoon before the start of the event at midnight.

The girls are excited to be able to walk the streets of London and take in all the sights which the city has to offer.

Llamwyr Lleuad Llyn are raising money for Breast Cancer Research.
