Madam,
I have been worried, prime facie, I must confess, that Plaid’s Gwynedd Council might be distributing its increasingly limited resources unfairly, favouring Plaid voting areas. Now Gwynedd Council has been asked about their bus subsidy policies under a Freedom of Information (FoI) request.
The preliminary results of that enquiry suggest that Gwynedd Council may indeed be giving more subsidy for bus lines in Plaid areas than, pro rata, it offers elsewhere.
Now, the whole matter is assuredly devolved. But MPs surely have a duty of care and concern for everything in their constituency, even devolved matters. Liz Saville Roberts, our MP, is a member of Plaid. Examining and if necessary criticising Plaid’s bus subsidy policies looks, to me, like something Mrs Roberts surely should do. Can she assure us that she will look into it? Devolution is not supposed to divest our Westminster MPs of their right to moral responsibility, after all.
Yours etc, Ian MacIntyre, Shelbourne Court, St John’s Hill, Barmouth.
