A NEW BROOD of baby dragons will make the inner walls of Harlech Castle their home next week as part of a drive to encourage visitors this summer.Harlech Castle is set to welcome Dwynwen on Tuesday, 1 August and her baby dragons, Dylan and Cariad, will join her a week later, on Tuesday, 8 August.Dylan and Cariad were named by members of the public in an online competition and have attracted visitors from across the country during their tour of Wales’ castles.

Touching down on 1 August within the walls of Harlech Castle, families and dragon-spotters alike will be able to see Dwynwen and her beastie bundles-of-joy until 13 August, before they continue their summer adventure across Wales.

Meanwhile, “dad” Dewi will hold the fort at his home of Caerphilly Castle.

The Baby Dragons’ arrival marks a new chapter in the Welsh Government’s historic environment service Cadw’s Live the Legends campaign, which is bringing Wales’ dramatic sites and stories to life during Visit Wales’ 2017 Year of Legends.

The latest additions to the Dragon Family complements National Museum Cardiff’s new Dinosaur Babies exhibition — part of an innovative collaboration between Cadw and Amgueddfa Cymru.
