Best friends Jenny Neale, 9, and Taya Jones, 10, from Llanon, have had their hair cut after growing it for the Little Princess Trust for three years.
The Little Princess Trust is a charity that donates wigs to young cancer sufferers.
The girls had their hair cut by Kevin Kersley, of KJ’s Hair Studio in Llanon, who gave his services for free.
Each wig costs around £500 to make, so the girls set their target at £1,000.
Taya organised an own clothes day at her school, Ysgol Myfenydd in Llanrhystud.
And they both organised a charity bingo night and raffle at the White Swan, Llanon.
Landlord Dylan Jones donated the bingo books for the night and Ann Vaughan was the caller.
The girls approached local businesses themselves to ask for raffle prizes and the evening ended up raising around £550. A further donation came from Aled Evans of Evans Auto Repairs, Pennant.
“We would like to thank everyone who has donated, sponsored and supported the girls,” said Jenny’s mum Jaclyn. “We are so proud of them. The total raised to date is £1,822.29.”
