An Aberaeron councillor will walk blindfolded through the town to mark Guide Dogs Week 2018.
Cllr Elizabeth Evans will put on a blindfold and walk through the town to highlight the dangers posed by street clutter and inconsiderate parking.
She will be accompanied by Guide Dogs Cymru supporters and guided by one of the charity’s specialist mobility instructors.
Cllr Evans said: “I’ve sponsored a guide dog for years and have seen the benefits they bring.
“There’s a guide dog owner in Aberaeron and I’ve seen how it’s changed her life.
“Like every town, we have problems with advertising boards and other items on the street and it can be difficult to negotiate your way along the pavement, even with full sight.
“I’ve asked traffic wardens to focus on the problem but, when I ask someone to move, they will often flash a blue badge at me, not realising that what they are doing is actually hindering other disabled people.
“I want Aberaeron to be as accessible as possible to everyone. It’s important for residents who are blind or partially sighted, and it’s also important that we welcome the visitors who use our pavements.
“This event will help to get the message across.”
The walk will take place in Aberaeron on Wednesday, 10 October.
