AN Aberystwyth businesswoman has announced that she is planning on opening a dessert bar near the town’s harbour.

Apprentice winner, Alana Spencer, this afternoon confirmed that she will be taking over the current Pysgoty site and opening a cafe ‘with a twist’.

Alana, who owns Ridiculously Rich by Alana which opened a bakery and shop on the Glan yr Afon Estate last year, said the new site will serve ‘everything from glorious ice cream sundaes to savoury snacks to a few surprise items that you may not expect, but I know you’re gonna love ...oh and maybe a few cakes as well?!’

Speaking to the Cambrian News, Alana said: “I am absolutely delighted to be opening a new dessert bar/cafe in my home town of Aberystwyth.

“As a little girl I used to dream of having my own place where people could come and buy all sorts of sweet treats and delicious magical delights, and now my dream is going to become a reality!

“We have found the perfect new home in the existing location of the award-winning Pysgoty and although these are going to be big shoes to fill, my team and I are all super excited and ready to take on the challenge!”

She also thanked Craig and Rhiannon Edwards from Pysgoty for making the process so smooth.

Alana won the 2016 series of the Apprentice, securing a £250,000 investment from Lord Alan Sugar for her Ridiculously Rich brand.

Last year, Alana bought up his shares to go it alone and in October last year opened a custom built bakery and shop on the Glan yr Afon estate on the outskirts of Aberystwyth.
