A BARMOUTH shop is to have some of its clothes featured on TV today, thanks to the help of a local resident.
Rew clothing items will appear on Prynhawn Da on S4C at 2pm today (4 March) after Dyffryn Ardudwy resident Alma Griffiths wrote to the channel to suggest its range should be featured.
Rachel Medlicott, owner of Rew, said: “The local lady who got in touch with S4C watches the channel. She said she was fed up with seeing only high street fashion featured.
“She wrote a letter saying that clothing from my shop should be featured.
“I felt overwhelmed that someone would take time out of their day to express that my brand should be something that is showcased to the whole of Wales. I am stoked, it means so much.
“She told me after the letter had been sent in that she had done it. I didn’t expect a response, but eight days later someone got in touch asking me if I wanted to send over pictures and videos.
“Given the year we have had with coronavirus and the shop flooding, this has come as a great lift for us.”
Alma Griffiths, who wrote the letter to S4C, said: “I often watch the show and I realised that there’s not much of a representation for our part of the coastline.
“Knowing that Rachel’s shop has been closed, I thought it would be good to showcase a shop in our local area on the national stage.
“It’s a difficult time for businesses. Often just to have this publicity could make such a huge difference.”
