A BREWERY has fallen foul of Ceredigion County Council planning regulations in an ongoing row over new windows fitted at an Aberaeron pub.
Felinfoel Brewery is said to have breached planning controls after launching a major refurbishment of the Royal Oak, a Grade-II-listed building set in a conservation area in the town’s North Road.
County Hall has now taken enforcement action to ensure the pub’s new windows are replaced.
But the Llanelli-based brewery – which is thought to have spent around £30,000 on the revamp - is fighting the move and a spokesman confirmed this week they had lodged an appeal against the local authority’s enforcement action.
“We’ve already spent a considerable sum of money on these premises and plan to spend another significant amount next year when we move the ladies toilets inside,” a brewery spokesperson said.
“We want to do everything in our power to ensure the sitting tenants have a business that is up to scratch in 2016 which is why we’re making this investment.”
The popular hostelry has been run by the husband-and-wife team of Stephen and Michelle Colvin since October 2014.
