The Co-operative food store in Machynlleth is “stirring-up” affection ahead of Valentine’s Day with a love-themed tea party.

There is a free red rose for the first 25 customers to take part, and a chance to design your own Welsh love spoon with any donations supporting Hospice at Home and, the British Red Cross – the Co-op’s charity partnership which will tackle social isolation and loneliness in Welsh communities.

Members of the community are invited to take part in the tea party which takes place in the Maengwyn Street store between midday and 3pm on Wednesday, 10 February.

There will also be a chance to chat to Beryl Dixon, the store’s Community Pioneer and, June Jones, a Member Pioneer, in order to find out more about The Co-op’s community and membership activities.
