A FATHER-and-son building team from Blaenffos have been awarded a high commendation at a national building awards ceremony in London.

Nick Fountain and son Robert were highly praised in the category of Best Local Builder or Traditional Cratsperson at the Local Authority Building Control Excellence Awards Grand Final – one of the most recognised events on the building industry’s calendar.

A panel of industry experts judged a list of the highest quality projects from around England and Wales to reward the best in technical innovation, sustainability and design.

The specialist stonemasons had already won the All Wales final in October.
