A New Quay fishing company has been shortlisted for a Mid Wales Tourism Award.

Epic Fishing Trips has been nominated for best activity/experience in mid Wales.

From a total list of 130 businesses, Epic has made a short list of three, as the only activity/experience from Ceredigion.

Company directors Tim and Corrine Harrison expressed delight at the news.

“To have this level of recognition come to Epic Fishing Trips is very special indeed,” they said.

“We would also like to say a special thank you to all of our customers and friends who have shared in our vision and enjoyed family fun fishing time with Epic Fishing Trips aboard our wonderful boat Legend of New Quay.”

Cllr Rhodri Evans, Ceredigion County Council Cabinet member for the economy and regeneration, welcomed the announcement.

“I’m delighted that so many Ceredigion tourism businesses feature prominently amongst the finalists of this year’s Mid Wales Tourism Awards,” he added.

“Tourism contributed over £330 million to the Ceredigion economy last year and the high standard of experiences, service and facilities provided by our finalists are a vital component in making Ceredigion a great destination for visitors.”

The MWT Cymru Award winners 2019 will be announced on the evening of Thursday, 17 October, at a gala dinner in The Hafren, Newtown.
