THE new management team at an Aberystwyth second-hand shop has vowed to make a “fresh start” to win back support from the public and staff after concerns over pensions being paid to previous directors.

Married couple Scott and Sharon Thomas have been confirmed as the new general manager and finance director at CRAFT at Aberystwyth Railway Station, and have insisted they will return the not-for-profit company to its original aims.

The new management arrangements come following a difficult period for the company after staff were made redundant and it emerged from accounts that the company’s premises had been sold off to a pension scheme that leases the building back to CRAFT.

Despite the previous difficulties Scott and Sharon have said they are looking forward to a bright future and thanked the public and staff for their support.

Sharon said: “This is a fresh start for CRAFT now and we want people to know that it’s a fresh start. We want to thank the public as CRAFT wouldn’t survive without them.

“We want to give massive thanks to the public as we can’t do it without them.

“We help a range of agencies who ask us to provide items for people in need and that is what we want to continue doing, but we can only do that with the support from the public, both in donations and in purchasing from us."
