Gwynedd businesses affected by the firebreak lockdown have until this Friday to apply for Welsh Government support.

Gwynedd Council is encouraging businesses to apply.

The funding supports businesses facing operational and financial challenges due to the national lockdown period in place in Wales that took place between 23 October and 9 November.

It will close at 5pm this Friday, 20 November, or when the funding is fully committed.

Councillor Ioan Thomas, Gwynedd Council’s Cabinet member for finance, said: "It is vital that Gwynedd businesses register for the support they are entitled to immediately as it is administered on a first come first served basis.”

Councillor Gareth Thomas, Gwynedd Council’s Cabinet member for economy, added: “We understand that the business community is currently facing a challenging period.

"It is therefore very important that companies register to receive this financial support from the Welsh Government - and to do so as soon as possible.

"If you are running a business in Gwynedd, I would also urge you to keep up to date by registering to receive our regular business bulletins."

The Welsh Government fund aims to support businesses with cash flow support to help them overcome the implications of the firebreak restrictions.

It is administered by local authorities.
