Gwynedd businesses are being asked to sign up to a revolutionary new app.

Siop.io has been partly researched by Porthmadog-based innovation group Arloesi Gwynedd Wledig.

AGW are looking for 15 independent food and drink businesses in Gwynedd, that don’t have an online sales system at present, or have one that is inadequate, to register to trial the app.

Rhys Gwilym, project officer at AGW, said: “We will work with the businesses and support them as they begin using the app e.g help them upload their products, explain the payment process.

“We saw so much support for local businesses during the first lockdown, we’re hoping this app will help people to continue that support.”

Paul Sandham, from Kodergarten, which has developed the app, said: “Customers can enter their postcode into the system, which will then list all the businesses that serve in their area.

“Customers then choose the products they want and pay for online. They then have the option of having the product delivered to their home or collected directly from the business.”

If you are a food and drink business and would like to be considered, there is an application form which needs to be completed by tomorrow, 13 November.
