Formed in 1998, the Aberystwyth Business Club is an active group of passionate businesspeople who operate in Aberystwyth. The club has given funds totalling over £125,000 to more than 50 charitable causes.

At the club’s AGM, three more organisations were supported by the club. The recipients attended the meeting to give a short talk to the members on how the funds will be used.

Aberystwyth Basketball Club – also known as West Coast Warriors – received a cheque for £1,200 to pay for a specialised sport wheelchair.

“A massive thanks to the Aberystwyth Business Club for the cheque because it’s one of our biggest overheads and it is such an asset now to have another wheelchair,” said Lee Coulson of Aberystwyth Basketball Club.

3rd Aberystwyth Scouts were delighted to receive a cheque for £500 to pay towards repairs to their hut.

Finally, Mês Bach Childcare had their activities boosted by a donation of £300 to help provide more opportunities for the children in the community through trips and activities.

Eddy Webb, chair of Aberystwyth Business Club, encouraged businesspeople in the town to join the club and also for organisations to request support."
