A landmark pub in Porthmadog has been bought for £1.73 million.
Colliers International announced this week the completion of the sale of The Royal Sportsman Hotel to Criccieth hoteliers Michael and Frances O’Reilly.
The prominently located and well-established three-star hotel is situated in the heart of Porthmadog and offers 28 en-suite letting bedrooms with bar, dining room and meeting facilities.
The present owner also has the benefit of a private two-bedroom apartment located on the second floor of the property.
Michael and Frances O’Reilly are already active in the local hotel market having acquired The Caerwylan Hotel in nearby Criccieth from Colliers in August 2016.
They have spent the last three years working on obtaining a fourth star at The Caerwylan, which they were awarded last month.
The pair’s plan for The Royal Sportsman is to bring it back to its former glory and work sympathetically with the building to enhance its character, but with a more modern feel.
