A MACHYNLLETH renewable energy company has been shortlisted for a prestigious national award.

Dulas, which is based at Dyfi Eco Park, has been nominated for Growing Co-operative of the Year at the Co-operatives UK Co-operative of the Year awards 2017.

The nomination states that Dulas was founded in 1982, and was soon installing solar power in Kenya as early as 1984.

Alistair Marsden, sales and marketing director, said: “It’s absolutely thrilling for Dulas to be recognised with a shortlisting for Co-operative of the Year.

“Our small community co-operative, based in Machynlleth, has made a significant social impact over the years — not only for our clients, but for the community that we are so much a part of too.

“We’d love to win this award to reward the hard work of all of our cooperative members — over the years, they have built the business into the thriving renewable engineering consultancy that it now is.

“It’s humbling to be shortlisted against such a strong list of great initiatives and we’d be elated if we took home the prize.”
