The long-awaited reopening of Aberporth’s Penrallt Hotel has been hailed as a boost for the local economy, tourism and community.
Ceredigion County Council Chairman Cllr Peter Davies and his wife Barbara were among guests who attended the official opening of the 15-room hotel on Saturday.
The event was followed the next day by a community fun day for local residents.
“It is wonderful to see this marvellous hotel reopen – it is such a boost for the local economy, tourism and the community,” said Cllr Davies.
The hotel – which has had an extensive six-month refurbishment – has been bought by the Vale family and will be run by Jane Vale and her partner, Owen Preece.
The hotel is already employing over a dozen local people and will be rapidly expanding its staff as it develops a further 11 garden rooms plus the spa next year.
Managing director Jane Vale said: “We have been delighted by the warm welcome from the local community – we are really looking forward to putting the Penrallt Hotel back on the map.”
