An Aberystwyth restaurant has been donating meals to brave frontline NHS workers.

The Light of Asia on Eastgate has for the last two weekends been donating meals to health workers in and around Aberystwyth.

Owner Nahar Miah said: “I have been donating 40 meals to the frontline staff at Bronglais Hospital and will be continuing it for at least two more Saturdays.”

He added: "Having watched the hard work and sacrifice of the NHS staff working every day to save lives of so many people affected by the coronavirus, we felt that we needed to do something positive to show our appreciation and support.

"We didn’t know initially how the lockdown would affect the Light of Asia, but we have been extremely fortunate to stay open for takeaways and deliveries.

"It’s been difficult, but we have managed so far thanks to the support of our local community and this initiative felt like a great way to show how much we appreciate this town and its people.

"Everyone loves curry and we couldn’t think of anything better than providing a nice treat and something to look forward to for the staff at our local hospital after a long shift."

Nahar and his staff cook up a selection of meals and hand-deliver them to the doors of Bronglais Hospital to give back to the brave staff fighting the coronavirus.
