A LLANIDLOES newsagent’s shop has made it into a list of the top 100 outstanding independent stores in the UK & Ireland in a competition.

Woosnam and Davies has been presented with an award by Montgomeryshire MP Glyn Davies and are hoping to win further awards in the contest run by the Independent Achievers’ Academy.

Trudy Davies said: “This is a great award to be given. We have been put in the top 100 award for the last seven years and are always surprised to be on the list. To say we are very pleased is an understatement.

“It’s great to know that the industry recognise what we do in the day-to-day running of our retail shop and the extra that we do for our customers and community.”

The shop will now go onto be judged in 12 categories within the awards and Trudy and all her staff are keeping their fingers crossed for further success.
