DWYFOR and Meirionnydd residents have the chance to experience “one of the most extreme landscapes in the UK” for the very first time.

Llechwedd Slate Caverns has showcased their latest venture, a thrilling new off-road adventure which launched in the mountains of Snowdonia last week.

The new Quarry Explorer Tour will allow members of the public to experience terrain that most people will never have had the chance to see.

Visitors will travel in open sided 4 x 4 military trucks to the top of Llechwedd’s formidable slate mountains which were largely created by the men and boys who dug the rock out of the mine in the 19th century.
