A Corris tourist attraction has gone on the market after its owner decided to retire after almost 30 years.

King Arthur’s Labyrinth has gone up for sale with Avison Young for £700,000.

Owner Ian Rutherford took over the attraction along with the Corris Mine Explorers and craft centre in 1993.

Popular for its unique tours by boat and on foot through underground tunnels and caverns, King Arthur’s Labyrinth is known for bringing ancient Welsh legends to life.

The Labyrinth, which won the Best Visitor Attraction in Mid Wales in 2018, is currently closed as part of coronavirus lockdown restrictions.

Richard Baldwin, director at Avison Young, said: “With the current owner looking to retire, this unique attraction presents an interesting investment opportunity for a site that has been growing in popularity as it has expanded over recent years.

“Over the past year, when restrictions have allowed, we have seen a considerable increase in visitors to areas such as Snowdonia, making King Arthur’s Labyrinth and Corris Craft Centre primed for recovery.

"With planning permission for an additional touring caravan site also secured, the site is ready to capitalise on the growing ‘staycation’ market.”
