A mobile phone shop will open its doors in Aberystwyth tomorrow, creating six new jobs in the town.
Vodafone is to open a shop in the former Shoezone store on Great Darkgate Street on Thursday.
Husband and wife franchisees Richard and Leyla Austin have more than 25 years’ combined experience of working in the mobile industry, running the store in addition to three others they oversee in Wolverhampton, Shrewsbury and Telford.
They have recruited six people from the Aberystwyth area to work in the store, including store manager Dan Lowe.
Richard and Leyla intend to make the new store an integral part of the Aberystwyth community by offering communications advice and support to local businesses and employability advice to local jobseekers.
Richard said: “We are very excited about expanding our business in partnership with Vodafone and helping to create new jobs in Aberystwyth.
"We know customers want not only the best deals and the latest technology, but also a personal and friendly service and that is what we aim to bring to the store.”
Leyla said: “Community is very important to us, which is why we want to become involved with local initiatives and community-based projects.
"We look forward to meeting and working with people from Aberystwyth and surrounding areas and celebrating local business together.”
