AN Aberystwyth care home has celebrated its 10th anniversary with a party for residents and a special presentation to staff who have been there since the home opened.

Residents and staff at Hafan y Waun, run by Methodist Home Alliance, marked the 10th anniversary of the home’s official opening with a party and special thanksgiving service on 8 February when six members of staff who have worked at the home since it opened were also honoured for their service.

Hazel Clement, the home manager, said staff at the home were pleased to have become part of the local community over the last 10 years.

She said: “We are delighted to be celebrating 10 years of providing care and support for residents and families in Aberystwyth and the surrounding area.

“Over the years we have become part, not just of a community within the care home, but also part of the local community and are looking forward to the next chapter in our history.”

As well as a party for residents and their families, long-serving members of staff were also thanked for their work, with six staff members having worked at the home from the very beginning.
