A MARINE wildlife group is preparing for a busy summer thanks to a cash injection.

The Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales’ Cardigan Bay Marine Wildlife Centre (CBMWC) in the heart of New Quay has a full summer schedule planned out thanks to the players of People’s Postcode Lottery.

Sarah Perry, The Wildlife Trust’s living seas science officer, said: “One of the core aims of the Wildlife Trusts Living Seas team is to raise awareness of the wonderful wildlife of Cardigan Bay.

"Many people are not aware of just how special the waters off the coast of Wales are and that parts are designated as Special Areas of Conservation, designed to protect specific habitats and species. We have a wealth of marine life in Welsh waters that we would like people to join us in finding out about.

“Our program of events and activities focused on the marine environment provides the ideal opportunity for both locals and visitors to the area to find out more about some of our wonderful Welsh marine life, find out what it’s like to take part in surveys and on a more serious note find out about threats habitats and species here face.”

Events will be running at the CBMWC from 25 July until 31 August and are a perfect way to keep the younger members of your family entertained throughout the summer holidays.
