Madam,

Plaid Cymru’s manifesto statement going into May’s county council elections was that they had enthusiastically taken up the work of transforming services for the elderly and looked forward to continuing with the responsibility. So enthusiastic in fact that five weeks after the council elections they announce their intention to close Bodlondeb residential home.

We now have in Ceredigion a Plaid lead council, a Plaid representative in the Welsh Assembly and a newly elected Plaid MP in Westminster.

Through your letters page I challenge both the AM, Elin Jones and the MP, Ben Lake to consider the residents of Penparcau and north Ceredigion and talk some sense into Cllr Ellen ap Gwynn, their political colleague, and get her to reconsider her proposal to close Bodlondeb.

Yours etc,

Cllr Lloyd Edwards, Penparcau ward, Ceredigion County Council.
