FAMILY and friends of the late Sam Rowland Evans MBE have raised £1,500 in his memory.
Morwenna Hill, daughter of Mr Evans, who was better known as Sam Pennal, presented a cheque to Abigail Severn-Benson from Wales Air Ambulance, Tywyn.
The money was raised through donations at Mr Evans’ funeral.
“My father, who sadly died last November at the age of 91, was a very well known and much loved character locally and was known world wide for his collection of vintage farming machinery.
“I am very proud to be able to donate this cheque to Wales Air Ambulance – a very generous amount given by my father’s family and many friends in his memory to a very worthy cause.
“I know my father would be delighted with everyone’s generosity and one of his wishes was that the amount raised would be published in the paper for all to see!”
