Bridge club

THE bridge club played in the Thursday/Friday Combined World Bridge Federation Simultaneous Charity Pairs on 24 January, with donations going to UNICEF for the children of Yemen.

Club winners were Keith Bellamy and Gill Howells, who came ninth overall, with Herbie Rowley and Nigel Symons Jones second (52nd overall) and Jen Harris and Ted Morgan third (39th overall). When scored on an overall basis, Ron Jones and Dai Hayes were 38th. Jen and Ted were the only ones to bid and make the slams on Boards 4 (Six Hearts) and 15 (Six Diamonds).

Aberaeron Bridge Club meets in the Royal British Legion Hall each Thursday at 6.40pm – newcomers are welcomed. Afternoon tuition for beginners and improvers is being held on Wednesdays starting at 1pm in the Royal British Legion Hall.
