Stroke Club
FOR the July outing, 36 members travelled south on a lovely sunny day, to the Gogerddan Arms near Aberporth.
They were greeted by the young helpful staff and sat down to a delightful meal, after the chairman had asked everyone to be upstanding in memory of two members who had died recently.
He then said grace in both English and Welsh. Everyone enjoyed the food and whilst tea and coffee were being served, the 650 club numbers were drawn and the cheques filled in followed by a very well supported raffle. With the absence of Jean, Ann gave a willing hand to Judith with the ticket sales.
The annual flag day is on Friday, 12 August at Morrisons, volunteers please, an hour of your time between 9am and 5pm. Contact the chairman with names for the rota on 615688.
The August venue is the Conrah for afternoon tea.

Pris y tocynnau yw £10 yr un, gyda holl elw’r noson yn mynd tuag at waith yr hosbis.
Rydym yn elusen gofrestredig sy’n darparu gwasanaeth Hosbis yn y Cartref gan wirfoddolwr i’r gymuned leol yng ngogledd Ceredigion.
Ein cenhadaeth yw: darparu cymorth ymarferol, cymdeithasol ac emosiynol i gleifion sy’n byw gyda salwch datblygedig, anwelladwy sy’n gwaethygu, a’u gofalwyr, yng nghysur eu cartrefi eu hunain.
Mae’r gwasanaeth yn ategu ac yn gweithio’n agos gyda’r Tîm Gofal Lliniarol Arbenigol, meddygon teulu, nyrsys ardal, a darparwyr iechyd, trydydd sector a gofal cymdeithasol proffesiynol sy’n darparu gofal lliniarol yn lleol.
Nid yw ein gwirfoddolwyr yn disodli nac yn cymryd drosodd y gofal a’r cymorth a ddarperir gan y gwasanaethau statudol, ac nid ydym yn darparu gofal nyrsio uniongyrchol. Gwirfoddolwyr yw asgwrn cefn y gwasanaeth.
Daw ein gwirfoddolwyr o bob math o gefndir ac mae gennym wirfoddolwyr o ystod o wahanol oed hefyd. Maent yn gallu cyflawni nifer o rolau fel rhan o’r tîm Gwirfoddolwyr Hosbis yn y Cartref.
Mae’r tîm yn cynnwys: eisteddwyr sy’n cyfathrebu’n uniongyrchol gyda chleifion, eu gofalwyr a’u teuluoedd yn y cartref lle mae’r claf yn byw. Gwirfoddolwyr sy’n cynorthwyo yn y siopau’r elusen yn Heol y Wig. Gwirfoddolwyr Gweinyddol a TG sy’n cyflawni ystod o swyddogaethau angenrheidiol i gadw’r gwasanaeth bywiog hwn i weithio’n effeithiol.
Y ddwy siop yn Heol y Wig yw canolbwynt holl weithgarwch yr elusen. Yn ogystal â darparu canolfan ar gyfer ein gwirfoddolwyr a rhywle i gleifion a gofalwyr taro fewn, mae’r siopau eisoes wedi dod yn le poblogaidd yn y gymuned ac yn ffynhonnell bwysig o gyllid ar gyfer y gwasanaeth.
Mae ansawdd y rhoddion, creadigrwydd a diwydrwydd y gwirfoddolwyr wedi eu gwneud yn hysbys-le gwych ar gyfer y gwasanaeth.
Yn amlwg, wrth gael dwy siop – mae angen mwy o wirfoddolwyr, felly os oes unrhyw un yn gallu fforddio rhoi ychydig o oriau’r wythnos i wirfoddoli yn un o’n siopau – byddai hyn yn fuddiol iawn i’r elusen a hefyd i’r gwirfoddolwr unigol. Dylai unrhyw un sydd â diddordeb mewn gwirfoddoli galw mewn i un o’r siopau i gael rhagor o wybodaeth.

Mind Aberystwyth
MIND Aberystwyth has been announced as Aberystwyth University’s vice chancellor’s Charity of the Year for a second consecutive year.
The announcement was made by vice chancellor Prof April McMahon, during the first of this year’s graduation ceremonies.
Now in its fifth year, the vice chancellor’s Charity of the Year seeks to raise vital funds for a worthy cause.
Mind Aberystwyth promotes and protects good mental health for all, and works to create a better life for everyone with experience of mental distress.
It provides information and support and develops local services for people affected by mental distress, including their carers, family, friends and supporters.
Prof McMahon said: “We are delighted that Mind Aberystwyth has been voted to be the vice chancellor’s Charity of the Year for a second year.
"A number of occasions arise during the year where fund-raising for a local charity is possible, and we look forward to supporting Mind Aberystwyth during the year ahead.”
Every year, Aberystwyth University raises money for a different vice chancellor’s Charity of the Year. Students and staff at the University nominate charities and then vote on a shortlist to choose the official vice chancellor’s Charity of the Year.
In 2015/16, Aberystwyth University raised well in excess of £2,000 for Mind Aberystwyth.
Fiona Aldred, chief executive of Mind Aberystwyth, said: “We’re thrilled that Aberystwyth University has chosen Mind Aberystwyth to be its vice chancellor’s Charity of the Year for a second year running.
"The support from the university will make it possible for Mind Aberystwyth to continue to support people affected by mental distress to live full lives, and play their full part in society.”
