Dog show
BARMOUTH Lifeboat Station held its seventh annual dog show over the weekend.
Dogs of all shapes and sizes descended on the boathouse on Sunday, 23 June, in a variety of classes.
Winners and runners up of each category received a certificate and rosette and the event was very ably adjudicated by Ed Meers from Williams’ Veterinary practice, with certificates presented by deputy mayor of Barmouth, Katie Price
It was a great turnout and a thoroughly enjoyable day, the weather kept dry and the dogs taking part all behaved impeccably all afternoon.
‘Best in Show’ was awarded to Rufus, the Afghan brought along by Jake Jarman from Leicester, who also won Best Puppy.
Winning categories: Best Large Dog: Rocco – with owner Nick from Manchester.
Best Medium Dog: Cody with Dominic and Finlay Woods from Barmouth.
Best Small Dog: Taffy – with Paula Tunnadine from Barmouth.
Best Child With Dog: Cody – with Finlay from Barmouth.
Best Puppy: Rufus with Jake Jarman from Leicester.
Best Rescue Dog: Belle - with Kes Triggs from Barmouth.
Best Dog On Holiday: Mustard - with Matthew from Liverpool.
Dog With Waggiest Tail: Tok - with Adele from Stourbridge.
Most Obedient Dog: Charlie - with Renee Savage.
Dog That Looks Most Like Its Owner: Bella with Colin Price from Bristol.
Best Older Dog Over 10 Years: Jake with Sarah West of Northampton.
Bowling club
ON 15 June, members and spectators from Fairbourne Bowling Club were invited to play a friendly match.
A great afternoon of bowling and a good time was had by all.
This was followed by a scrumptious afternoon tea in the clubhouse.
Winners will be announced when Barmouth visit Fairbourne for a return match on 13 July.
In glorious sunshine on 22 June, some of the lady members played in the Ladies Doubles, finalists being Mari O’Rouke and Margaret Williams against Pam Payton and Christine Palmer.
