DEBBIE Jones, vice-president, chaired the first meeting of the new year, with a warm welcome to all members, and guest visitor for the evening Jane Houliston.

Apologies were accepted, and good wishes were conveyed to members who were unable to attend.

The business meeting commenced with the Treasurer’s Report, with Sheila reporting that the sales of the book had done extremely well.

New outlets would be looked into for a final push during the spring and summer to sell the remaining copies.

Information was given out on two forthcoming outings: the Dining Club evening on 25 January, and a proposed trip to Yr Ysgwrn (Home of Welsh Poet Hedd Wyn on Tuesday, 20 February; details are available from Christine.

Annette gave out details on The Craft Club, which is held in The Old Library once a month, with Thursday, 18 January, to start off the New Year, 1.30pm for 2pm start.

Concerns were raised by a number of members, regarding the lack of buses being available from lower Harlech into Town, and it was decided that a formal letter would be forwarded, expressing our concerns on behalf of Harlech WI.

The voting for the 2018 NFWI Resolutions was actioned.

No further business to discuss, we commenced our entertainment for the evening with a game of bingo, accompanied by refreshments, lots of laughter and confusion, with the winners being rewarded with some lovely prizes.

The next meeting will be on 14 February, with guest speaker Adrian Evans.

Visitors and new members are welcome to join them in The Memorial Hall on the second Wednesday of every month commencing at 7pm.
