RHIAN Thomas welcomed members and guests at the June meeting held at Tysul Hall.

With all business matters complete, a reminder was given to members that the carnival will be held on 7 July at the park.

The guest speaker was member Melinda Jarratt on the subject of murder.

A very entertaining and enlightened talk on her career of 35 years in the Metro Police murder squad, being only one of two female officers at the time, and how things worked from the discovery of the body to the arrest through the many avenues, including forensics.

A vote of thanks was given to the speaker and tea hostesses by Ann Morgan.

The competition for ‘A Whistle’ was won by Susan James, with Jean Lloyd and Melinda Jarratt in second and third respectively.

The next meeting will be on Thursday, 5 July, at Llandysul Park.
