THE March meeting was held at the Tyssul Hall, with president Susanaah Van Eegan in the chair. After all correspondence and news-letter were read and discussed, secretary Melinda Jarratt read the minutes which were agreed and signed. Susannah then introduced Elen Morgan S4C, the speaker for the evening, who gave an insight into her life as an eisteddfod competitor and a very popular actress. Elen began competing at eisteddfodau at the age of four and won her first cup, which inspired her at a very young age to continue. Success took her to the Urdd and National Eisteddfod. She then went for an audition at Menai Bridge for a part in TV drama Rownd a Rownd, playing the part of Welsh teacher Llio James; she was successful and has played the part for the past five-and-a-half years. Rhian Thomas thanked Elen and wished her continued success. The competition, a piece of Welsh china, was won by Patsy. Tea hostesses were Gwenyth, Dawn, Patsy and Anne. The committee provided deli-cious Bara Brith and pancakes to celebrate St David’s Day.The next meeting will be at the Tyssul Hall on Thursday, 6 April, at 7.30pm and the speaker will be Richard Keen, with ‘UKanaKulele 2’, with the competition being a painted egg.
