Celebrations at St Ceitho Church
FROM October to December the members of St Ceitho Church have organised a number of celebrations to which everyone is welcome.
They begin with a Harvest Thanksgiving and Supper on Wednesday, 4 October, beginning at 6.30pm.
They will be welcoming back, as guest speaker, Rev Dyfrig Lloyd, visiting from Cardiff where he is now Vicar of Eglwys Dewi Saint.
On Friday, 27 October, Bois y Gilfach, the melodious local male voice choir are giving a concert in the Jubilee Hall, starting at 7.30pm.
Admission is £5 and proceeds go to the church.
From Thursday, 14 December, until Sunday, 17 December, the church will sparkle with decorated Christmas trees, holly and ivy, as they celebrate Advent with their first ever Christmas Tree Festival.
The church will be open on all four days when visitors will be welcomed with a cup of tea as they wander around the exhibits.
There will also be a children’s Christmas tree competition.
To mark the end of the festival they will be holding a Cymanfa Canu in the church on Sunday, 17 December, starting at 7pm.
They will celebrate again with the children on 20 December, when they hold their Christingle Service at 5.30pm.
This is followed by a party at the Jubilee Hall.
The Holy Eucharist for Christmas is being held in St Ceitho’s church, at 7.30pm on Christmas Eve.
