Mach Maethlon

THE group’s Club Coginio held its most recent session at the Bowling Club when, on 22 December, all present learnt how to make egg-free fritattas with Michael Sverdlov.

And, on Sunday, 21 January, the group will be holding a fund-raising three-course dinner with wine and live music at the Bowling Club, 7pm until 11pm. The starter will comprise local food and the main course will be prepared by Aber Food Surplus Café, and concluding the feast, dessert of truffle cake by Green Goat Café. Tickets at £18 (children £9) from the Decco Shop/Blodyn Tatws (Mair’s veg shop or direct from members of Mach Maethlon.

MOMA

THE popular ‘Meet the Artist’ series of free talks continues at the Tabernacle Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) Machynlleth on Saturday, 20 January, at noon, with a film and talk by Jean Napier. While, in the evening, starting at 7.30pm, a concert will be given by Tra Bo Dau and will feature Rhys Meirion, Aled Wyn Davies, Dilwyn Morgan, Menna E Griffiths, Ysgol Glantwymyn, Ysgol Llanbrynmair and Ysgol Carno. Tickets are £12 with proceeds to the Royal Welsh Show 2018 appeal.

ON 15 December, Powys County Council’s planning committee approved an application to modify section 52 legal agreement attached to planning application M12131 (occupancy restriction), Bryn Uchel Isaf Caravan Park, Cwmllinau, Machynlleth.

School panto

SUPERB performances from Ysgol Bro Hyddgen’s junior department brought rapturous applause as the children performed this year’s Christmas pantomime Cinderella Rockerfella.

Haf ap Roberts thanked the fantastic children and everyone for their support and assistance with the production, including the staff, the PTA, parents and friends.
