Judith Shenton gave an excellent demonstration of making rich pastry using a large amount of butter and no worry about keeping it cold!
She had learnt this method while working out in the Middle East. The tart fillings had historical links. The mushroom and leek to the Romans, the garlic and herb to Chaucer’s Pardner’s Tale and the sweet tart made with oranges and lemons dated back to the 15th and 16th centuries.
At the next meeting on 10 May, the speaker is Ursula Whitehouse from the Pwllheli Food Bank and members are asked to bring contributions. Also last chance to book and pay for the night out on 24 May.

Nos Sul, 22 Ebrill, Arwel Williams, Rhosgadfan oedd yn cadw cwmni a’i destun oedd ‘Rhaid mynd i’r Deml, Pregethu, Cyrchu a Dioddef.’
Ddydd Sul, 29 Ebrill, roedd y gwasanaeth yng ngofal rhai o’r chwiorydd sef Beti, Gwen, Janet a Mary.
