Clonc Outing

THE Clonc group paid a visit to the former Italian prisoner of war camp in Henllan on Wednesday.

They were welcomed by Jon Meirion Jones who gave a wonderful historical account of the camp with many amusing anecdotes.

He led the group to the chapel created by the prisoners giving a detailed and very interesting story of the men, their life in the camp and the lasting effect of their few years in Henllan.

The visit was followed by lunch at the Daffodil.

Clonc will now have a break over the summer recommencing meetings for coffee and Welsh conversation on Wednesday, 6 September, 10.30am in the memorial hall.
