THE latest community news from Newcastle Emlyn

U3A

THE monthly speaker for February braved the wintry weather and brought along some very interesting creatures.

About 30 members also managed to get through the snow to enjoy the talk by Janet Barber of Pant Glas World of Nature.

She brought with her some of the owls, hawks, a ferret and a rabbit for members to learn about.

Members agreed that it was a very enjoyable experience and well worth making the effort to get there.

The next meeting is today (Wednesday, 7 March) when the speaker will be Sharon Owen from Welsh Hearts.

Newcastle Emlyn U3A will also be hosting a first aid session for members run by the Red Cross. This will take place from 11am to 1pm on Wednesday, 11 April.

Monthly meetings usually take place on the first Wednesday of the month at 10.30am, for an 11am start, at the Community Hall on Church Lane and usually finish at about 12.15pm.

The U3A is for retired and semi-retired people who want to live, laugh and learn together. Various groups meet during the month, including astronomy, strolling, craft, French, games, wine appreciation and luncheon club.
