Garden Club

A VERY well-attended meeting of the Garden Club took place on Tuesday, 13 February.

Unfortunately, the speaker Eurwen Roberts was unable to attend owing to adverse weather conditions. They hope to hear from him soon, perhaps next season.

The secretary, Sue Yeomans, brilliantly organised a quiz at extremely short notice.

They all enjoyed it and the opportunity to socialise. Angela Sheffield, Janet Rushby and Janet Handcock won the competition and a prize of chocolates. So much for the diet!

Quentin Deakin discussed running an open garden day this year and the committee will look further into it.

Diane Bishton and Mary Willis made tea for everyone. Thanks Mary for filling in at short notice.

Thanks also to Cath for managing the entrance money as Ann Malin, our treasurer, was ill. Get well soon and all best wishes to Peggy Griffiths for a swift recovery.

The next meeting will be on 13 March, when Quentin Deakin will give a talk on soil.
