An auction held by the "Ceredigion" branch of the "National Garden Scheme" has raised more than £2,400 for the charity.

Purple Trees Garden Nursery in Ystrad Meurig hosted more than 60 buyers as locally donated "pre-loved garden" items were auctioned for the good cause.

The headline lot was an original Lizzie Spikes painting that the local artist (from Drfitwood Designs) had kindly donated just for the event.

Lizzie's painting sold for £200 which when added to the totals from the "auction", "garden jumble sale" "tea, coffee and refreshments being served by the NGS team, brought the total raised to well over £2432.00.

Stuart Bradley - County Organiser for the "National Garden Scheme" described the auction and open garden as "a fun and refreshing way to bring the community together for the benefit of others in need"
