A LLYN couple are hoping to kickstart an old tradition in a brand new television production.
Nefyn duo Siôn and Nia Jones are launching a new venture to restore ‘milk rounds’ to their home region.
Their endeavours are captured on film in a new show starring presenter, comedian and businessman Tudur Owen in his new the three-part series, Tudur Owen a’r Cwmni.
With people’s experience of shopping undergoing a transformation in recent years and high streets losing their character, Tudur wants to find out if there’s room to bring the small, traditional businesses back.
In a one-off programme last year, Tudur Owen a’i Gwmni Pysgod (Tudur Owen and his Fish Company), Tudur worked with the local community in Menai Bridge, Anglesey to try to bring back the tradition of catching and selling local fish.
In this new series, Tudur will give people from three areas – Nefyn, Conwy and Lampeter – the chance to come together to revive a trade which once played a central role in community life.
“The three programmes are totally different – we have three completely different stories about people venturing into business,” said Tudur, originally from Anglesey and now living in Felinheli.
The show will be broadcast on S4C on Tuesday 11 April at 9.30pm.
