A FORMER politics student at Aberystwyth University has gone on trial at the Old Bailey charged with 15 offences related to terrorism and hatred.

Andrew Dymock, from Bath, is alleged to have promoted the neo-Nazi System Resistance Network group through Twitter and a website.

The 23-year-old, who studied at Aberystwyth University between 2015 and 2019, was first arrested at Gatwick Airport by counter-terrorism police on his way to the USA in June 2019.

The charges all relate to a period between 2017 and 2018 when Dymock was studying in Aberystwyth.

Dymock has denied five counts of encouraging terrorism, four of disseminating terrorist publications, two of terrorist fundraising, one of possessing material useful to a terrorist, one of possessing racially inflammatory material, one of stirring up racial hatred, and one of stirring up hatred on the grounds of sexual orientation.

The trial continues.
