A man has appeared in court charged with two counts of raping a woman in Llanarth.

Gareth Colin Tanner, of 32A Station Road, Ammanford, appeared before Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court on 26 August.

The 48-year-old is charged with the rape of a woman at an address in Llanarth on 2 December 2013 and 5 January 2024.

Tanner is also accused of separate charges of assault and intentional strangulation of a woman at a property in Cornwall on 28 August 2024.

No pleas were entered at the hearing.

Tanner is next due to appear before Swansea Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on 25 September.

He was remanded on conditional bail until that hearing date.
