Police have urged the public not to take matters into their own hands, after arresting a Lampeter man named by an online paedophile-hunting group.

Officers have confirmed that 26-year-old Peter Kundrak was arrested after being named by Confronted and Caught.

A Dyfed-Powys Police spokesperson said: “On Sunday, 4 November, police received allegations from a group in respect of a man in the New Quay area, relating to offences involving children.

“Officers swiftly attended and arrested the man.”

“Peter Kundrak, from New Street, Lampeter, was subsequently charged with attempting to cause/incite a girl aged 13 to 15 to engage in sexual activity.

“He has appeared before Haverfordwest Magistrates Court today (Monday, 5 November) and has been remanded to appear at Swansea Crown Court on 7 December.

“A video was circulated on social media relating to these allegations – and we recognise the strength of feeling in relation to this.

“We urge people not to take matters into their own hands or get involved in any unlawful activity which could hamper police enquiries.

“Therefore we ask that people refrain from sharing and commenting on these types of video or content – comments that could amount to a criminal offence.

“This is in order to allow for thorough investigations and to prevent investigations being undermined.

“Where any criminal offences are committed, we will take appropriate action."
