TWO men from Llanbadarn Fawr will face trial at the crown court after appearing in court to deny charges of tens of thousands of pounds worth of criminal damage to trees.

Cadfan Davies, 22, and 53-year-old Andrew Davies, both of Cae’r Madyn, appeared before Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 10 November.

The pair are jointly accused of damaging three poplar trees and 30 small ornamental trees with an estimated value of £52,000 belonging to Christopher Fletcher at Frongog Farm in Aberystwyth on 12 September last year.

Davies and Davies each pleaded not guilty at the hearing.

The pair are next due to appear at Swansea Crown Court on 8 December for a trial management hearing.

Magistrates remanded both men on unconditional bail until that date.
