Madam,
Further to Ann Gladstone’s letter about her £60 fine at Llangrannog car park for not paying within ten minutes of arrival, due to One Parking Solutions’ machine not accepting the coins and a lack of mobile reception.
While passing Llangrannog on a walk I photographed the signs and found nothing at all about a 10-minute warning.
Ann was a guest at our neighbour’s house. What is not clear from her letter is that they parked two cars, so there was not one, but two £60 fines quite beyond their control and they were told that the fines would increase to £100 each if not paid within a fortnight.
The fact that, after much effort on their part, the full parking fees for both cars were paid was ignored and their appeal rejected. I understand that Ann decided to notify the police of One Parking Solutions’ appalling stance. Rightly so: I’d call the crime daylight robbery!
Yours etc, Wyck Gerson Lohman Cwmtydu, Llandysul.
