Volunteers in Ceredigion have raised £2,700 for a farming charity.
Three fundraisers have been held in a fortnight recently across the county and raised the four-figure sum for farming charity, the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution.
The tractor run was held in memory of Mervyn Smith, a stalwart of RABI’s Ceredigion committee. A total of 46 tractors took part, visiting several locations that had been important to Mervyn.
The charity supports farming people of all ages with financial grants, practical care and guidance.
In 2019, RABI has given out more than £1.82m in Wales and England, including over £38,000 to families in Ceredigion.
Much of RABI’s funding comes from events arranged by voluntary supporters, businesses and community groups.
Euros Davies, chair of RABI’s Ceredigion committee, said: “I would like to thank everyone who attended these fundraisers.
“These events don’t just happen, they require planning and rely on people giving their time.
“We’re especially grateful to Nigel Smith and his family for helping to organise the tractor run, along with Gareth Davies and Arthur Davies and his staff at the Ffostrasol Arms.”
