THE former Pontsian primary school was put up for sale by auction in Manchester on Tuesday.
The school – which closed in July 2016 when it merged with a number of other schools into the 3-19 Ysgol Bro Teifi ‘super school’ in Llandysul – was among the lots due to go under the hammer at north west auction firm Pugh’s sale.
The old school which covers 2,700 sq ft and has a floor plan outlining a proposed conversion to a residential bungalow, had a guide price of £90,000-£100,000.
Pugh managing director Paul Thompson described the old school as a “unique” building in one of the most beautiful areas of the country.
“There is a range of potential development opportunities available that would give this property a new lease of life,” he added.
“Not surprisingly we have seen a great deal of interest, which is in keeping with the growing appetite among investors from across the country for value for money investment opportunities.”
