Members of Ardal Aberystwyth rolled up their sleeves and spent a the day cleaning up the town at the end of January.

This was their first outing since the club received its Charter from Rotary International, formally accepting Ardal Aberystwyth into the world-wide organisation.

The new style rotary club is all about fellowship and making a difference by supporting local and national communities and charities. With this in mind, keeping the streets and beaches clean for everyone to enjoy was a good place to start.

Ensuring that the job was done efficiently and safely, all the kit required for the clean-up was kindly provided by Caru Aber.

Club Llywydd (President) Kerry Ferguson said: “It was great to have the opportunity to meet as a Club for the first time since our official Charter arrived, and what better way than by doing some excellent community work! As a new Rotary Club, we are really keen to work closely with the community and host our own events across Aberystwyth.”
