A LLANIDLOES woman has been honoured for her volunteering.

Every year the Welsh Council for Voluntary Action runs the Wales Volunteer of the Year Awards.

Compton’s Yard Charitable Trust nominated Linda Hallett, one of their longest-serving volunteers, to say thank you. Linda has been working on the Llanidloes Wildlife Friendly Garden for many years, come rain or shine. Often she is working alone and in the summer she is out there every day. Linda was entered in the green volunteer category.

A spokesperson said: “People who used the garden were asked for their feedback and everyone was so enthusiastic about it and told how much they enjoyed visiting it.”

The judges decided that Linda Hallett’s work in the wildlife-friendly garden was “Highly Commended” .
